There are a few simple measures available to give you a snapshot indication of the impact you are having. A measure of 1  is good. Anything over that indicates that, should everyone live like you, we would need more than 1 earth to sustain us in the long term. Only the most short-sighted and selfish philosophy on life would assert that to be a happy situation.

Unfortunately, not everyone (indeed, few in the developed West) is in balance with demand on the earth's resources far outstripping supply. As any good merchant will tell you, using up your capital base without having any means of replacing it is a dangerous situation.
